We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Plot Bunnies featuring The Easter Island Heads with Bodies. This is the beginning of a new project that Dave Mornix and I have planned. Each day will post something funny, weird or strange … but with some fact behind it. You can then run with it and use it for your own inspirational purposes or just read it and do nothing the choice is yours.
As a child loosing a tooth was a big deal. It was sometimes scary, sometimes exciting, but at any rate a big deal. It also meant that there would be visit from the tooth fairy and either money or a treat would be hidden under pillow in exchange for you newly lost tooth a piece of your childhood.
In the News on July 23, 2014:
Doctors in India have extracted 232 teeth from the mouth of a 17-year-old boy in a seven-hour operation.
Ashik Gavai was brought in with a swelling in his right jaw, Dr Sunanda Dhiware, head of Mumbai’s JJ Hospital’s dental department, told the BBC.
The teenager had been suffering for 18 months and travelled to the city from his village after local doctors failed to identify the cause of the problem.
Doctors have described his condition as “very rare” and “a world record”.
‘Small white pearls’
“Ashik’s malaise was diagnosed as a complex composite odontoma where a single gum forms lots of teeth. It’s a sort of benign tumour,” Dr Dhiware said.
Tooth Fairy Facts:

Rise of the Guardians was one of our favorites!
Food for thought:
Story ideas …
Maybe instead of a tumor it could have been some kind of magical curse?
The Tooth Fairy offers him a job with her since he impressed her with so many teeth?
Maybe there is a plot and more kids are having this teeth problem that was created by the Tooth Fairy because there was a lack of business?

“Kids delight in ‘magical thinking’, whether in the form of the Tooth Fairy or the Saints: whether you see these as comforting lies or eternal verities, they are part of how we help kids make sense of the world.”
